For Roger and Janet Bird of Kismet, Kansas, success in life has often
been a matter of timing. As row crop farmers who raise wheat, corn, soybeans and
milo, the Birds understand how crucial it is to get the crops planted and
harvested at just the right time. As ranchers who have managed up to 10,000 head
of pre-feedlot "stocker" cattle at once, the Kansas couple also understands the
concept of buying, preparing and selling livestock at the optimum moment.
So in 1980, when Roger Bird decided to search for and purchase a good Paint Horse
stallion, it was because he felt that it was simply the right point in time to
do so.
