Two judges decode the Youth Trail 13 & Under pattern from
the 2011 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show.

Deciphering a top trail pattern is a bit like decoding a hidden message: before guiding one?s Paint Horse through the maze of obstacles, a competitor must first analyze the complex pattern, figuring out the correct path while also uncovering the hidden challenges in the course?s design. Then, it?s up to the rider to show the judges that she not only understands the questions posed throughout the course, but that she also has the skills to answer them with confidence. The trail courses at the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show are among the most complex, requiring well-trained, responsive horses and accurate, poised riders. To help you understand how to decode a complex trail pattern, 2011 AjPHA World Show judges Charlene Carter and Brendon Brown explain the challenges and expectations facing exhibitors navigating this year?s Youth 13 & Under Trail Youth World Show class pattern.
