attention of researchers hoping to identify its genetic home.

One of the rarest coat patterns in the Paint Horse breed, splash overo is still very much a mystery where genetics are concerned. Popularized by such Paints as Gambling Man and Colonels Smokingun, splash overo Paints certainly capture their fair share of attention in and out of the show pen. Now, they’ve also attracted the attention of academia, and researchers hope a new study will shed light on the elusive pattern’s genetic identity.
