Elite Boot Camp
By James Saubolle, with Abigail Wilder Boatwright

Three weeks before a major show, boot camp begins. I like to have my Youth and Amateurs spend 10–14 days at my barn for an intensive training and educational session that involves riding, spending time with their horse and others, some hard work and a little fun. At boot camp, my clients work on all the events they plan to compete in at the show, and we spend a good 10–11 hours with the horses each day. It’s a fairly intense few weeks, but I find that it really helps my clients prepare and show at their best.
