Tie-down roping at a breed show is different than rodeo calf roping in that the
horse’s performance is judged and is not based on time. It is scored on the
basis of 0–100, with 70 being an average score. The horse is being judged from
the time his number is called and he starts toward the box until the roper rides
his horse forward to loosen the rope at the end of the run.
