APHA’s Workshop brought members and directors together to plan for the association’s future.

More than 130 American Paint Horse Association (APHA) directors, alternates, standing committee members and guests attended the association’s annual Workshop May 29–31, in Irving, Texas. They gathered to discuss rule change proposals and current topics of interest affecting the association, as well as to learn more about APHA’s strategic plan. With a new streamlined format, the 2008 Workshop flowed smoothly and attendees accomplished a variety of tasks.
Thirteen standing committees met individually, and jointly, to discuss important issues facing the industry and to review rule change proposals that will be sent to the 2008 APHA Convention, to be held October 2–4 in San Diego, California. Fifty proposed rule changes were brought before the standing committees for review and 27 proposed rule changes will advance to Convention. The proposed rule changes that are passed by voting directors at Convention will be included in the 2009 APHA Official Rule Book and published in the December Paint Horse Journal. |
